Lucas Benarroch, known professionally as MRKA, is a Madrid-born multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Lisbon. A graduate of Parsons, The New School for Design, he spent more than a decade in New York before relocating to Portugal.
His practice moves between art and design, exploring everyday symbolism, imperfection, humour, and the tension between opposites through a distinctive graphic language. His work has been exhibited internationally, including in New York, Cologne, Miami, and Valencia, and his commercial collaborations include brands and organisations such as Nike, Lacoste, NASA, HBO, Sony, Red Bull, and Wu-Tang.
His work is also part of the Harvard University collection, and he has been invited to speak at institutions including Central Saint Martins in London.
