Born and brought up in rural Normandy, at an early age Leroy developed a taste for experimention using the odds and sods of everyday life as his building material. After a technical training, he moved to Paris where he studied industrial design. During his studies he produced his first kinetic works. These were immediately spotted and exhibited in various Parisian galleries & museums. After graduation he collaborated as a designer with various companies and architects and also set up his own artistic studio in Paris.Hybrid, Vincent Leroy’s work oscillates between the real and the virtual, the natural and the artificial, drawing its inspiration from both nature, which often sites his work, and from the digital world.
